Boeing officially presented Sunday the technologically advanced and environmentally friendly 787 Dreamliner jet, designed and built in collaboration with about 70 companies worldwide, including Russian firms and design bureaus.
"The first test flight of the airplane is expected in late August or September," the company said in a statement.
"A total of six airplanes will be included in the flight test program, which will conclude in May 2008 with the certification of the airplane, followed shortly thereafter by the first delivery of a 787 to ANA," the document said.
To date, 47 customers worldwide have ordered 677 airplanes, worth more than $110 billion at current list prices, with the leading Russian air carrier, Aeroflot, buying 22 Dreamliners to upgrade its long-haul fleet.
Aeroflot earlier said the planes would be delivered between 2014 and 2016.
Several key components for the Boeing 787 have being designed at Boeing's Moscow bureau, which employs 300 Russian engineers, and Russian-supplied titanium will be used in the production of the plane under an agreement with Vsmpo-Avisma, which controls a third of the world's titanium market.
