Madeleine McCann was three years old when she went missing during the family's vacation. She has been the subject of a Europe-wide search ever since.
Portuguese authorities have recently made Kate and Gerry McCann formal suspects in the case.
The couple's spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, attacked the "rampant, unfounded and inaccurate speculation of recent days." He also said the McCanns were "innocent victims of a heinous crime."
The McCanns say they left Madeleine in the family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz while they went to eat in a nearby restaurant.
However, a family representative said earlier that Portuguese police believe traces of Madeleine's blood were found in the McCanns' car, hired 25 days after she vanished.
The British businessman, Richard Branson, recently pledged 100,000 British pounds ($200,000) to help clear couple's name. The money is to be used to pay the McCanns' legal costs.
