BUENOS AIRES, October 2 (RIA Novosti) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has released his first CD of traditional Venezuelan and Mexican music, entitled Canciones de Siempre or Songs for all times, local media said Tuesday.
The album comprises songs recorded during Chavez's regular 'Hello, President' TV and radio show broadcast on Sundays. The CD cover has Chavez with a microphone in his hands, wearing his traditional red shirt and sombrero.
The leader, known for his long speeches, regularly sings during the program to allow his audience to have some rest before his next monologue.
In order to prevent potential criticism from his political opponents, the president described the CD release as another PR-prank by his press service chief.
Chavez, one of Washington's most outspoken critics in Latin America, has yet to decide, if the CDs should go on sale or be distributed free.
