TOKYO, October 18 (RIA Novosti) - Three Japanese family members died and one was injured when their car drover off a mountain road in an apparent joint suicide attempt over debts they were unable to repay, local police reported.
The car plummeted 50 meters (164 feet) off the road killing three people, but the 56-year-old driver, Masahisa Kamimura, 56, survived and has been taken to hospital with severe injuries, according to police in the town of Matsuzaki in the Shizuoka Prefecture.
The driver's 91-year-old father, 58-year-old sister and 54-year-old brother died in the crash. Kamimura has been arrested for killing the three relatives, with their consent.
Police found a note in a wallet in the car saying the family were unable to repay funds borrowed to maintain their restaurant business.
