TEHRAN, October 24 (RIA Novosti) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed on Wednesday the UN Security Council's document on Iran's nuclear program as a worthless pile of paper.

The UN Security Council has passed two rounds of sanctions against the Islamic Republic, based on the dossier, over the country's refusal to halt uranium enrichment, which Western countries suspect is geared toward weapons production despite Iran's repeated denials.

"From our viewpoint, the so-called 'dossier' at the UN Security Council is nothing but a pile of papers of absolutely no significance," the Iranian leader said. He stressed that the document could not strip the Iranian nation of its right to peaceful nuclear energy.

The president said Tehran was open to talks on its nuclear program but that the country would "not discuss its unalienable rights with anyone."

Iran's new chief nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, is currently in Rome for talks on the nuclear issue. On his second day in the Italian capital, he met with Prime Minister Romano Prodi.

Ahmadinejad said a new phase of Iranian diplomacy would start soon to bring new visits, talks, and agreements that would influence the international situation.
