MOSCOW, December 18 (RIA Novosti) - Two U.S. astronauts completed on Tuesday the 100th spacewalk from the International Space Station to inspect joints that move the station's solar arrays, NASA said.

During the almost seven-hour spacewalk, ISS commander Peggy Whitson and flight engineer Dan Tani "examined damage to the starboard Solar Alpha Rotary Joint (SARJ)," NASA said on its website.

They also "looked for the cause of partial loss of electrical power to one of the station's two Beta Gimbal Assemblies (BGAs) for starboard solar wings."

On December 8, a sudden electrical power outage shut down three circuit breaker trips on the ISS. A backup power source is still running.

During the spacewalk, Tani and Whitson took photos of the outside of the ISS, and collected samples of debris on the rotary joint.
