MOSCOW, December 19 (RIA Novosti) - Police arrested a university physics teacher in southwestern India who punished his students with a self-made stun gun, the local NDTV channel said on Wednesday.
"The teacher said he had been in prison for two months and had come to spread terror," a shocked student said.
The TV channel said the students had complained to their parents, who in turn informed the local Maharashtra state police.
Twenty-two students said that the teacher, Sukant Mishra, had used the electroshock device to maintain discipline. All of them have since been sent to hospital for a medical examination.
Police have arrested Mishra on charges of "intimidation and causing harm with a dangerous device."
