CAIRO, December 20 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian national was caught red-handed at Cairo International Airport on Thursday with hundreds of exotic reptiles in his baggage, national media reported.
The passenger, bound for Moscow, was passing through customs control when airport staff noticed that something was moving inside his bag.
A security inspection revealed a total of 14 baby crocodiles, 125 Egyptian and African turtles, three chameleons and 12 lizards.
The reptile-enthusiast had no documents or licenses for creatures.
The would-be smuggler was deported, and the species will be now housed in the Cairo City Zoo.
