WASHINGTON, December 26 (RIA Novosti) - A 70-year-old man from Frankfurt, in the U.S. state of Indiana, has paid for a $25,000 Dodge Ram half-ton pickup truck with nickels, quarters and dimes, national media said on Wednesday.

Paul Brant, who had been saving up the coins for more than a decade, took them with him to pay for the new vehicle. The money had been kept in coffee cans, piggy banks and water jugs.

Brand said he followed the example of his father who always paid in cash and saved up change for vacations.

The salesman was forced to hire an armored car to count and transport the money.

Thirteen years ago, Brant bought a Dodge Neon pickup for $36,000, also using loose change he had collected over a period of 23 years.
