GAZA, January 17 (RIA Novosti) - A Palestinian military leader and his wife were killed during an Israeli air strike on the Gaza Strip on Thursday, the Palestinian Al Quds radio reported.
The radio station said the militant was killed in the Palestinian Hamas-controlled enclave, and had led militia groups behind frequent rocket attacks on southern Israel.
Palestinian radicals have stepped up rocket attacks after an Israeli raid killed 19 people in Gaza on Tuesday. On Wednesday, an Israeli air strike on the territory killed five Palestinians, including three civilians and a teenage boy.
Islamists launched at least six rockets on Israel on Thursday, slightly injuring an Israeli woman, Israeli military said.
