The wedding between Ciganer-Albeniz, 50, and 48-year-old Richard Attias was held at the famous Rainbow Room in Manhattan on Sunday evening in front of an estimated 150 guests.
Media reports called Cecilia's marriage a 'tit-for-tat' decision following Nicolas Sarkozy's quick wedding to model-turned-singer Carla Bruni, 40, on February 2 just a month after their divorce became final.
The Sarkozys announced the end of their 11-year marriage last October. The couple have an 11-year-old son, Louis, and two children each from previous marriages.
The festivities reportedly started on Friday at the home of Attias in Greenwich, Connecticut. On Saturday, the couple went to see the Abba musical "Mamma Mia!" at a Broadway theater.
A Milan fashion house earlier this month said the couple would be wearing Versace. After the announcement Cecilia reportedly canceled the order and requested a new designer.
The marriage to Attias, who heads the Publicis Events Worldwide agency in New York, is the third for Ciganer-Albeniz. Her first husband was 51-year-old French television presenter Jacques Martin.
Sarkozy, who first met Cecilia when he performed her wedding ceremony as the then mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine, said he was "struck by lightning" when he first met her.
She left Sarkozy in May 2005 to live with Attias, but returned to the president in the run-up to France's presidential election last spring. Speaking about her marriage to Sarkozy, Cecilia said: "I tried everything but we found it impossible to live together."
