Egypt to open border with Gaza May 10 - source
"We have had a meeting with Egyptians, and they agreed to open the Rafah checkpoint for three to four days on Saturday," the source said.
Rafah is the only border crossing point with Egypt, which opens from time to time for residents of the Palestinian enclave with a population of 1.5 million since Egyptian authorities regained control of the border in early February.
A limited contingent of Egyptian police has controlled Gaza's southern rims after Israel withdrew its troops and settlements from the enclave in 2005.
However, under a 2005 agreement, Israeli approval is needed for any border crossing between Egypt and Gaza. International observers, whose presence was also required, left Rafah about a year ago, when the Islamist riot was on its peak.
