NEW DELHI, May 13 (RIA Novosti) - At least 40 people were killed and many are still missing in north Bangladesh after a ferry carrying between 150-200 people capsized during a tropical storm, national media reported.
The ferry sank in the Ghorautura river, nearly 180 km (115 miles) from the capital, Dhaka, late on Monday. About 25 passengers managed to swim ashore, but the others are believed to have been unable to escape from the boat before it sank.
A rescue operation is underway.
