Israeli soldiers opened fire at midday on a group of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, wounding one of them, a 25-year-old man, in the foot.
The Israeli soldiers had been ordered to "shoot at any moving object within 300 meters of the border fence," the International Middle East Media Center reported.
The incident occurred five weeks after a June 19 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza.
Under the deal, Israel agreed to reopen its border crossings with the Gaza Strip to allow the supplies of essential goods into the Palestinian territory.
The deal is limited to the enclave and has already been broken by Gaza-based militants who fired rockets into Israel in response to Israeli "aggression" in the West Bank.
