NEW DELHI, August 3 (RIA Novosti) - The death toll in a stampede at a temple in northern India has risen to more than 120 people, local media reported on Sunday.
The accident occurred on Sunday at the Naina Devi temple located atop the hill in the Bilaspur district of the Indian state of Himachal-Pradesh when tens of thousands of Hindu worshipers were attending a religious festival that began on Saturday, local TV channels said.
Earlier reports said 60 worshipers were killed and another 300 injured in a stampede.
Temples in India are regularly hit by stampedes as thousands of people gather to pray during religious festivals.
