CAIRO, August 19 (RIA Novosti) - At least 43 people were killed and 38 wounded in a major terrorist attack in Algeria on Tuesday, the official APS agency reported, citing Algeria's Interior Ministry.
The suicide car bombing occurred at a police academy in the Les Issers district of Boumerdes, some 55 km east of the capital, Algiers. No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack.
Civilians and security officials were reported to be among the victims, the agency said.
Earlier Tuesday, 11 servicemen and a civilian were killed in an ambush by armed militants 350 km east of the capital.
