BUENOS-AIRES, September 22 (RIA Novosti) - At least 15 people died and 50 were injured when two buses collided near the town of Calamarca in the western Bolivian province of La Paz, the Erbol radio station reported on Monday.
The bus driver drove into the oncoming lane while attempting to overtake a vehicle and collided head-on with another bus on the highway linking the capital La Paz and the city of Oruro.
Last year 1000 people were killed and 13,500 injured in road accidents in Bolivia, according to official statistics. On June 2, at least 17 people died and 15 were injured when a bus lost control and hurtled into a 200-meter gorge.
