Dormitory fire kills 11 workers in eastern China

BEIJING, December 4 (RIA Novosti) - Eleven workers have been killed and 10 injured in a fire that broke out in a dormitory in China's eastern province of Shandong, the Xinhua news agency said on Thursday.
The fire broke out overnight at a dormitory belonging to a Chinese-American frozen fish company. Over 80 firefighters and 10 fire engines rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze.
A doctor told Xinhua that the injured were "out of danger."
On Tuesday, 11 girls died of carbon monoxide poisoning at a secondary school in northwest China after a heater caught fire. On Wednesday, seven elderly people died in a blaze in a retirement home in eastern China's province of Zhejiang.
