One killed, 12 injured in Tbilisi market blaze

TBILISI, December 11 (RIA Novosti) - One person was killed and 12 injured in a fire that broke out at a market in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on Thursday, Imedi TV said.
The blaze broke out in the morning in a shop selling Christmas tree decorations and, fanned by strong winds, quickly engulfed the largest wholesale market in the city.
After the fire was brought under control, firemen discovered a dead body in one of the shops. Witnesses said the roof of the building had collapsed on top of him.
Four firemen have also been hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning.
The cause of the fire is being established. According to preliminary version, it could have been started at a warehouse containing firecrackers.
