ANKARA, January 22 (RIA Novosti) - A child was killed and four people injured in an Ankara neighborhood on Thursday as a four-storey residential building collapsed there, local media reported.
The cause of the incident has not been established yet, and no information is available if any people may remain under the debris.
The TV-24 channel said the building was newly built.
The Hurriyet newspaper said 45% of the buildings in Ankara did not conform to building regulations. Recent reports said that 85% of buildings in Turkey's commercial capital, Istanbul, had not been built in accordance with the law, and 65% were not sufficiently able to withstand an earthquake.
