GENEVA, January 31 (RIA Novosti) - Police used tear gas and water cannons against protesters rallying in Geneva on Saturday against the World Economic Forum in Davos after the rally participants started throwing bottles.
Hundreds of protesters reportedly went out of control after authorities banned them from demonstrating on a central street.
Some protesters were dispersed by police, but groups of young people were continuing to attack policemen.
The demonstrators accuse the participants of the Davos forum, which is an annual meeting of top businessmen, world leaders and journalists to discuss the most important global issues, of failing to prevent the current economic crisis.
