TEL AVIV, March 5 (RIA Novosti) - Israeli police shot dead on Thursday in Jerusalem the driver of a construction vehicle who had slammed into a police car and an empty bus, a police spokesman told RIA Novosti.
Police are calling the front-loader driver's actions a terrorist act. Two police officers were slightly injured in the incident.
"He turned over the police car and then slammed into a bus," the spokesman said. "They began shooting and as far as I know he was killed."
This is the third incident of its kind in Jerusalem. In June 2008, a Palestinian worker smashed into several cars in a front-loader, killing three people. Two weeks after that incident, a resident from Jerusalem's Arab district injured more than two dozen people in a similar incident.
