BEIJING, March 27 (RIA Novosti) - At least 37 people were killed in two separate bus accidents in China on Friday, local media said.
At least 20 people were killed and 11 injured when a bus and two trucks collided in the eastern Chinese province of Jianxi, Xinhua reported.
The accident occurred in the city of Fengcheng when the bus crashed through a safety barrier and swerved into the oncoming lane, where it collided with two heavy trucks. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
Several hours later, 17 people died when a bus fell into a ravine in the southeastern Fujian province.
At least 100,000 people die in road accidents in China each year.
