TEL AVIV, April 1 (RIA Novosti) - The majority of Israelis are dissatisfied with the newly formed government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a survey published on Wednesday by the liberal Haaretz newspaper.

Just 30% of the respondents said they approved of the Likud government, while 54% of those surveyed expressed their disappointment with the new Cabinet - swollen to 30 ministers as a result of Netanyahu's struggles to form his five-party coalition.

The poll also showed two key ministers with "embarrassingly low support" on their first day in office. Only 25% of the respondents backed Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, while most said he should not be Israel's top diplomat, and relatively unknown Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz was deemed suitable by just 22% of respondents.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak turned out the most popular with "stellar support" of two-thirds of the respondents.

The survey was conducted on Tuesday, the day the government was approved by parliament, among 515 people with a margin of error of 4.5%.
