MOSCOW, June 3 (RIA Novosti) - The U.S. government has admitted to accidentally publishing "highly confidential" information on hundreds of civilian nuclear sites, including detailed maps showing fuel stockpiles, on the internet.
The 266-page confidential report was to be passed to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), but was posted on the Government Printing Office Web site by mistake.
The document was withdrawn from the website on Tuesday evening, following inquiries from The New York Times.
Analysts said the security breach did not create significant dangers, as general information was already available on most points in the report, which contains no military information.
However, the New York Times said one of the most serious leaks was a detailed map of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, housing the Y-12 National Security Complex, which holds highly enriched uranium.
