YEKATERINBURG, June 16 (RIA Novosti) - The leaders of India and Pakistan met on Tuesday in Russia's Yekaterinburg for their first talks since last November's terrorist attack in Mumbai.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari are in the Russian Urals city to attend the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will be followed by the first summit of BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China).

"I am glad to meet with you, but my mandate is to declare that Pakistan's territory must not be used by terrorists," the Indian premier said as he shook hands with the Pakistani president.

The terror attack in Mumbai, which India blames on a Pakistan-based Islamic militant group, killed more than 170 people and injured another 300. Delhi demanded Pakistan hand over the suspects but Islamabad said it needed more evidence to take action.

During the visit to Yekaterinburg, Singh also met with Chinese and Kazakh leaders. Later on Tuesday, the Indian prime minister is expected to hold bilateral discussions with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
