The body of a Muscovite tourist has been found weighed down by rocks in the sea near the resort town of Alupka in the Crimea, Ukraine's emergencies ministry said on Sunday.

SIMFEROPOL, June 28 (RIA Novosti) - The body of a Muscovite tourist has been found weighed down by rocks in the sea near the resort town of Alupka in the Crimea, Ukraine's emergencies ministry said on Sunday.

The body of the 50-year-old man was found on Saturday afternoon at a depth of two meters, 15 meters from the beach. Two rocks were holding the body down, the ministry press service said.

"The circumstances of his death are being established; police are conducting an investigation," the statement said.

The discovery came a day after the body of a 63-year-old Russian man was found floating in the Azov Sea, off the Crimean coast.

Alupka, located near Yalta on the Black Sea, on the southernmost tip of the Crimean peninsula, is a popular tourist destination for people throughout the former Soviet Union.
