MOSCOW, July 7 (RIA Novosti) - Two people were killed and one slightly wounded after a MiG-29 ground-attack aircraft belonging to the Serbian Air Force crashed to the northwest of Belgrade, the Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry said the plane crashed during a training flight near the Batajnica military airbase, killing one serviceman on the ground and wounding another.

The pilot managed to eject from the plane but later died in a military hospital from his injuries.

An accident commission has been set up to investigate the incident, with the country's President Boris Tadic ordering that the results of the investigation be made available as soon as possible.

The Serbian Air Force has five MiG-29 aircraft leftover from the 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. In 2004 the aircraft were sent to Russia for an upgrade with the first of them being returned to Serbia in 2008.
