Over 120 presidents, premiers to attend UN general assembly

UNITED NATIONS, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - A total of 122 heads of state and government will take part in the 64th annual session of the UN General Assembly, a spokesman for the international body said Wednesday.
Jean Victor Nkolo said 86 heads of state, three vice presidents and 36 prime ministers, along with more than 60 other top officials, had confirmed their participation in the session, but added that the list of participants could change by the time the general debate starts September 23.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will be among the heads of state taking part.
The agenda for the 64th session of the UN General Assembly includes such issues as the provision of world peace and security, protection of the environment and human rights, the struggle against terrorism, and measures to promote social and economic development.
