VLADIVOSTOK, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - The U.S. Navy coastguard cutter Sycamore completed its three-day visit to Russia's Far Eastern port of Vladivostok and headed home Saturday, Russian border guards said.
"During the visit, the American guests made a tour of Vladivostok, got familiarized with its sights and museums and took part in sporting events with colleagues from Russia," the Russian FSB Border Guard Department said, adding that they also visited Russian vessels.
When the ship arrived in Vladivostok on the visit, it was met by girls wearing U.S. and Russian national costumes and bearing salt and bread, a traditional Russian symbol of hospitality.
Russian and U.S. border guards discussed on Tuesday cooperation in the fight against smuggling and poaching.
