The de facto president of Honduras announced on Monday the cancelation of a state of emergency in the country and the restoration of citizens' civil liberties from Tuesday.

MEXICO CITY, October 5 (RIA Novosti) - The de facto president of Honduras announced on Monday the cancelation of a state of emergency in the country and the restoration of citizens' civil liberties from Tuesday.

"The council of ministers suspends the decree from Tuesday," Roberto Micheletti said on national television.

President Manuel Zelaya was bundled out of Honduras on June 28 by the military, acting on instructions from the Supreme Court and parliament, for his efforts to seek an unconstitutional second presidential term. He was flown to Costa Rica.

He returned to the country on September 21 and took refuge in the Brazilian Embassy.

Micheletti, the parliament speaker who was named interim leader, canceled the constitutional guarantees of the citizens' rights for 45 days on September 26, which included a ban to gather by groups of more than 20 people and the closure of media that supported Zelaya.
