The vice speaker of Georgia's parliament dismissed on Tuesday the Russian security service's allegation that Georgia has been supporting terrorists in the Caucasus, calling it a "provocation."

MOSCOW, October 13 (RIA Novosti) - The vice speaker of Georgia's parliament dismissed on Tuesday the Russian security service's allegation that Georgia has been supporting terrorists in the Caucasus, calling it a "provocation."

FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov told a meeting of the Russia's counterterrorism committee earlier in the day that evidence had been found that the Georgian security service has been working with Al-Qaeda representatives in "training terrorists and sending them to Chechnya," and helping to "supply arms and funds to terrorist groups for attacks in Dagestan."

Responding to the allegation, Pata Davitaya told the Imedi news channel: "These statements show that Russia is trying to provoke us, in saying that Georgia has been carrying out some kinds of provocation. This is totally absurd - there are no Al-Qaeda representatives on the territory of Georgia, and cannot be."

Georgia's special services have not yet commented on Bortnikov's allegation.
