At least 16 people were killed and another 25 wounded in a bomb blast near a judicial complex in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar on Thursday, Pakistan's News International reported.
In an interview with Geo News, Dr. Sa'ab Gul from DMS Lady Reading Hospital confirmed the number of those killed, adding that five injured were in a critical condition.
Taliban militants have struck numerous times in Pakistan in recent weeks, killing over 300 civilians and soldiers.
At least three people died and more than two dozen were injured when a bomb exploded outside a police station near Peshawar on Monday, according to Al Jazeera.
On Saturday, a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb near a police checkpoint in the outskirts of Peshawar, killing at least 11 people and wounding 26 others.
A truck bombing at the regional headquarters of Pakistan's national intelligence agency killed at least 10 people in Peshawar on Friday.
The area separating Pakistan and Afghanistan has been a stronghold for Taliban radicals who fled Afghanistan after the U.S.-led invasion toppled the Taliban regime there in 2001.
