MOSCOW, November 21 (RIA Novosti) - India has proposed urgent reforms in the operation of the World Trade Organization, the Press Trust of India reported Saturday.
In the run-up to the seventh WTO Ministerial Meeting in Geneva starting on November 30, Delhi has urged greater transparency on issues related to non-trade barriers.
India's efforts to bring about WTO reform have been praised by South Africa, its key partner alongside other developing countries seeking a fair global trade deal.
"Again India has led the way and tabled proposals for systematic reforms of the WTO," said Faizel Ismail, head of the South African delegation at the WTO.
