Belarus will create a new concept of national security in 2010, the presidential press service has said.
The issue was discussed during Thursday's report of state secretary of the republic's Security Council, Leonid Maltsev, to President Alexander Lukashenko.
"The existing national security system of Belarus has proved its effectiveness - the republic is in a stable economic, social and political situation. However, the emerging threats and challenges require an update of the national security system," a source in the press service said.
The source said the new system is to touch upon all recent changes of national, regional, and global importance.
