With almost a third of ballots counted, opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych is leading in Ukraine's presidential elections, gaining 37.32% of the vote, the country's Central Election Commission said on Monday.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko trails with 24.40%.
Ex-National Bank head Serhiy Tyhypko has reportedly garnered 12.83% of the vote, while ex-parliament speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk has received 6.64%.
The country's incumbent President Viktor Yushchenko is fifth, with 4.73% of the vote.
As none of the candidates is gaining 50% plus one vote needed to win the elections in the first round, a runoff is likely on February 7.
