The Moldovan Defense Ministry has again put on sale six MiG-29A Fulcrum fighters in need of repair, a ministry spokesman said on Thursday.
The fighters will be sold by auction, on February 1, at a starting price of $8.5 million.
Three auctions for the aircraft in 2010 failed to attract a buyer.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Moldovan Army inherited 32 Soviet-built MiG-29A warplanes, most of which were sold to the United States, which wanted to prevent them falling into unfriendly hands.
The fighters on sale now were built in 1988, and thoroughly upgraded in the late 1990s in Belarus. They are now grounded and need repairs, which would cost about $30 million.
