The Turkish prime minister has dismissed a report by an Israeli inquiry commission justifying the actions of the Israeli troops during the Freedom Flotilla raid.

The Israeli military stormed the Freedom Flotilla ships in neutral waters in the Mediterranean Sea in late May as they tried to take 10,000 tons of aid to the Gaza Strip, which has been under an Israeli blockade for the past three years. The raid claimed the lives of at least 9 Turkish nationals.

Israel began an investigation of the attack on the Freedom Flotilla in late June. The country has rejected numerous calls to set up an international inquiry into the deadly raid.

The Israeli commission probing the attack said in its report on Sunday the actions of the Israeli military were legal and laid the blame for the violence on the passengers of the Turkish aid flotilla.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan has dismissed the report as 'biased.' "What else can be expected from a sponsored report?" he told journalists adding that the report had "no credibility."

The incident dealt a harsh blow to Turkey-Israel relations. Shortly after, Ankara recalled its ambassador from Tel Aviv and demanded official apology and compensations from Israel.
