Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree to join UN Security Council sanctions against Libya, the Kremlin said on Thursday.
The decree bans the supply of arms, ammunition and military equipment to the North African state.
The UN Security Council voted on February 26 to impose an arms embargo on Libya, where clashes between forces loyal to leader Muammar Gaddafi and rebels have claimed thousands of lives.
