The radiation level at the quake-hit Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant on Tuesday reached a critical level necessitating the evacuation of personnel from the control room, Kyodo news agency quoted the plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Co., as saying.
It said the container of a plant reactor may have been partially damaged, Jiji Press reported.
There are fears radiation may have leaked after apparent hydrogen blasts at two more reactors, triggering growing fears of widespread contamination.
