Sarkozy warns against preventive strike on Iran

Topic: Iran's nuclear program

French President Nicolas Sarkozy
21:35 31/08/2011
PARIS, August 31 (RIA Novosti)

French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Wednesday that a preventive strike on Iran could lead to a crisis in the region and called on world powers to toughen their sanctions on Tehran instead.

"Iran's military, nuclear and ballistic [missile] ambitions pose a growing threat that could lead to a preventive strike on Iranian facilities and provoke a serious crisis, which France wants to avoid by all means," Sarkozy told French diplomats at an annual ambassador conference.

The West suspects Iran of pursuing a secret nuclear weapons program, but the Islamic republic, which is already under four sets of international sanctions over its nuclear activities, insists it needs nuclear power solely for civilian purposes.

Talks between Iran and six world powers, including France, Russia and the United States, broke down in December last year.

"The international community can respond effectively [to Iranian nuclear threat] if it demonstrates unity, resoluteness and imposes even tougher sanctions," the French president said.

Israel has repeatedly signaled its readiness to attack Iran's nuclear facilities if diplomacy fails to dissuade Iran from moving forward with its uranium enrichment and ballistic missile development programs.

With Saddam and Gaddafi's voluntary disarmament (ending their weapons programs) making them only-easier targets to attack instead of tolerating/forgiving them; it is strongly wondered whether Iran/Syria (or other victims) would really even-think-for-one-second giving up nukes-effort.

Btw, if UK/France[&lagger-from-behind:US] can topple Iran&Syrian regimes, "for how long" does Russian admin think that West would tolerate tandem regime in Russia, even if regime was ready to pull Russia to her [what-West-sees-as-]deserved/"real-Russian" borders to try buying legitimacy?

Although I am against any weapon at all, I wonder how Israel will pull this one. Iran is not some state that uses soviet technology like Saddam and Gaddafi did. They use much more modern Russian equipment which is far more advanced and upgraded then their soviet versions.

Each country wants to feel secure. Therefore take steps to increase the mutual security of all. But will Israel take the lead? No, that would be entirely too sensible. Therefore the USA must force the Israeli hand by withdrawing all future support for the state of Israel until Israel agrees to "bite the bullet".

Well, well Sarkozy war machine knows what tree to climb, I always knew that the French war machine was a school boy champ bullying the weak. Why because the French military always believe they are a power simply because of Africa no one there ever gave them a fight so to speak.
And this a direct warning to the weak if you have oil and not strong, we will come and get it under the pretext of democracy and civil liberty. Strangely enough there are always internal traitors willing to help.

Provides for the right of countries to engage in military action in self-defense, including collective self-defense (i.e. under an alliance) FOR IRAN TO NONSTOP FIGHT FOR ITS RIGHTS AND FREEDOM, LIBERTY. IRAN IS A LAND OF THE BRAVES.

Beware the NONSTOP SPECULATIVE Propaganda Campaign of lies and nonsense for War against Islamic Republic of Iran

This is all nonstop propaganda lies of nonsense like in IRAQ with WMD by zionist US aggressor from Iraq, Afghanistan to Libya.
Iran has no nuclear weapons program and has been consistent all times.
For about 12 years, Israel has claimed that Iran will have a nuclear bomb within 6 months or a year.
The USA constantly issues accusations about Iran's "nuclear weapons" but to this day, has not produced one shred of evidence to support those accusations.
So, why should one believe anything they say now? any potential delay in it is just imaginary.
Iran wants to enjoy the benefits of NPT for peacefull nuclear energy that's why Iran is to remain in NPT
Otherwise, Iran has quit from NPT a long time ago.

In principle, however, nothing in international law or in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty forbids the enrichment of uranium. Besides Iran, several other countries, parties or not to the treaty, enrich uranium without being accused of "threatening the peace." And in Iran, this activity is submitted to inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency. These inspections, it is true, are constrained by a safeguards agreement dating from the 1970s. But it is also true that the IAEA has never uncovered in Iran any attempted diversion of nuclear material to military use.

While the US possesses and has used nuclear weapons in the past, Washington, in a politically-motivated move, is imposing unilateral sanctions against Iran, which does not possess nuclear weapons nor does it seek to develop such weapons.
WikiLeaks – A fabricated conspiracy of nonstop propaganda lies to isolate Iran from other Muslim nations for US's benefits on behalf of unbreakable bond Israel.

"NOTHING CAN DEPRIVE IRAN OF ITS NONSTOP INALIENABLE RIGHT AND KNOWHOW FOR NUCLEAR ENERGY."
BUT, YOU CAN KEEP TRYING BY ALL MEANS TO SABOTAGE IT SUCH AS SANCTIONS, VIRUS, ALL KINDS OF PARANOID MEDIA PROPAGANDA LIES IN THE NEWS VIA FAKE DOCUMENTS LIKE WIKILEAKS, WMD IN IRAQ, TERRORISMS, IRAN IS A THREAT OR YOU NAME IT LIKE THE WAY THE BIBLE WRITTEN TO BE READ, ASKING FOR SACRIFICES ON ISRAEL'S BEHALF.

Only in the past few days I seen the North Korean leader in Russia and would of got the same respect in Russia if they had not it and Nuclear detterent works as if Gaddafi had of had the Bomb would NATO of been planning a occupation of their country and like to what circumstances Russia would give up their Nuclear Weapons when they see what are engaged in with countries that do not have them
NATO has in my view united the Fundmentalist Islamists and Secular Gaddifi forces against in a similiar situation to Afghanistan even with 40 nations taking part there since and 2001 and more at stake in the natural resources of North Africa been controlled by Nato and create problems for other exporting countries of gas and oil
