A suicide bomber blew himself up at a gendarmerie post near the Turkish resort city of Antalya on Friday.

At least two people had been lightly injured in the blast, Antalya Deputy Governor Recep Yuksel was quoted in local media reports as saying. The explosion occured in the village of Goynuk, some 40 kilometers from Antalya, soon after 4:00 pm local time (13:00 GMT).

The gendarmerie building and several cars parked nearby were reported to have been damaged by the blast.

A local administration official denied earlier reports that three people had been killed, saying that the bomber was the only victim.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Last week, three people were killed and at least 15 wounded in a car bomb explosion in the Turkish capital of Ankara. The Kurdistan Freedom Hawks (TAK), a group linked to Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants, claimed responsibility for the blast and threatened more attacks on Turkish cities.

The attacks come as the Turkish military have carried out airstrikes against PKK bases in northern Iraq.
