At least eleven people died and another eleven were injured after a five-story residential building collapsed on Monday in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, South Asian ANI news agency reported.
“As of now eleven bodies of the victims and eleven injured, including Lebanese citizens and foreigners, were recovered from the rubble,” ANI said. It did not provide more detail concerning the nationalities of the victims.
Officials said cracks in the building caused by heavy rains and vibration from nearby construction sites are being investigated as possible causes of the tragedy.
