WASHINGTON, August 9 (RIA Novosti) –Travelers on a Miami-bound flight from Russia got more than they were bargaining for when a man allegedly started attacking passengers and crew, a Florida news website has reported.

Pavel Nesvat, who has both Russian and US citizenship, commenced his rampage about five hours into the flight aboard the Russian carrier Transaero Airlines, according to a criminal report cited by Keysnet.com Thursday.

The report did not say where Nesvat resides permanently or where the flight originated. Most Transaero flights originate in Moscow.

Nesvat began by throwing “ice cream jars” at other passengers. When asked by an attendant to stop, Nesvat responded by groping a female passenger. Then he assaulted two attendants and started “pulling their ears” according to the report.

The outrage culminated when Nesvat approached the cockpit while wearing a backpack. A fight with an attendant ensued until Nesvat, struggling all the way, was restrained with his seatbelt by several flight attendants.

Nesvat was arrested upon arrival in Miami on a charge of interfering with a flight crew, Keysnet.com reported. His bond was set at $200,000 and his arraignment is scheduled for August 15. Nesvat faces up to 20 years in prison if found guilty.
