All 60 demonstrators detained by police on Saturday in central Moscow were released, a police source said.
Some 200 people met on Triumfalnaya Square “attempting to hold an unauthorized event,” the ministry press service said. Police detained about 60 demonstrators, including the leader of the Other Russia movement Eduard Limonov.
“All detained activists were released after police had compiled a report of administrative offense,” the spokesman said.
A number of activists, including Limonov, were released late Saturday. The opposition leader is due for a court hearing on April 9.
Civic protesters hold unsanctioned rallies on the last day of each month with 31 days in support of Article 31 of the Russian Constitution, which guarantees freedom of assembly.
