Russia's Ivan Skobrev won the world all-around speed skating championship on Sunday at the Olympic Oval in Calgary, Canada.

Russia's Ivan Skobrev won the world all-around speed skating championship on Sunday at the Olympic Oval in Calgary, Canada.

The 28-year-old Russian athlete won the 3,000 meters and 1,500 meters and finished second at the 10,000 meters.

The winner is determined according to combined results they show in four distances.

Skobrev scored a total of 146.230 points in the final classification, followed by Norway's Havard Boekko (146.408) and Jan Blokhuijsen of The Netherlands (146.603).

The Canadian Press reported that Bulgarian and Belarusian anthems were mistakenly played during the award ceremony.

Skobrev won a silver medal in the 10,000 meters and bronze in the 5,000 at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
